Items and Upgrade Components in World of Warcraft
Upgrades to items can be a great way to increase the value of your weapon and armor. However upgrading common equipment is not worth the cost as rare or unusual equipment can quickly surpass it.
Upgrades can be made to an item up to six times. Each upgrade will add to the gauge of the item.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade materials that can be used to enhance an item's attributes. Glyphs are commonly used to upgrade a weapon or armor but they can also be used to upgrade the appearance of a ring, hat, necklace, or any other item. Glyphs are available at various levels and are available from vendors in the city of Deneb. They are usually very expensive, but are worth the investment since they can boost the value of an item's stats.
A glyph is a symbol that encodes the shape of a symbol, letter, or numeral. It has a distinct appearance and is assigned a unique code that refers to it across different fonts. In addition to regular letters, glyphs could also include special characters like mathematical symbols or arrows. They may also represent symbols, icons or other types that are commonly used in a particular language. There are a variety of glyphs and a font can include multiple variations of each. The default glyphs of Adobe Caslon(tm) Pro, for example, include all of the regular characters, along with ornaments, swashes, and ligatures. You can view these variations in the Glyphs Panel and insert them directly into your document.
Glyph metrics are the parameters that determine how the glyph is placed when text layouts are created. They are determined by a mix of factors, such as the advance width and side bearings. The Glyphs Panel is a powerful tool to create new designs for documents or alter existing ones. Growthstones

Suffixes are also able to alter the speech part of the word. For instance the suffix -er in English and German's suffix -ismus. They can also alter the spelling of a word, like the adjective defenseless becoming not protected.
There are a myriad of suffixes for adjectives, verbs and nouns and adverbs. Suffixes added to words can alter their meaning or pronunciation and some have specific rules that apply. Suffixes are also used to alter the grammatical rules such as adding the suffix -ness a word to make it an adjective or -ic to a noun to make it possessive.
In addition to being used to add an additional meaning to words, suffixes may also be used in the names of people and places. For instance, a man who is single may be named "Paulauskaite" while married women will have the name "Paulauskiene".
The most frequently used suffixes signify status. They include -ion as well as -ist. They can also be used as a way to define a person's personality characteristics like -iveness and -phoria.
Item affixes are utilized to enhance the armor and weapons by adding parameters that provide bonuses. These can be a combination between one or more prefixes or suffixes.
